This was me just hours after my surgery…
If you’ve ever been injured, you know this rule:
take pain meds before the pain peaks.
Because once it spikes, you’re not managing it…
you’re chasing it.

Emotional regulation is the same.

Most of us wait until we’re:
overstimulated, triggered, snapping, spiraling, shutting down…

…and then we ask, “WHY am I like this?”

But that’s like waiting until pain is a 10/10 to do something about it.

Regulation is preemptive care.
It’s noticing the early signs and responding with support before it becomes an emergency.

Your early signs might be:
tight chest, racing thoughts, irritation, numbness, doom scrolling, needing control.

Your emotional “meds” might be:
water, food, sunlight, movement, breathing, quiet, boundaries, a reset.

You don’t need to be tougher.
You need to intervene sooner.

Stop chasing the emotion. Catch it early. 🤍

Boundaries aren’t walls.
They’re information.

They tell people what you will and won’t participate in.

If setting boundaries feels uncomfortable, it doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong — it usually means you’re doing it for the first time.

Power doesn’t sound like anger.
It sounds like clarity.

So much growth this year. And growing…well, it’s messy and painful. But I’m still here. Superhero status is being achieved y’all 🦸‍♀️ and if you haven’t listen to the new episodes, I promise they are worth a listen 🎧
